I'm glad to see you stuck with the colored lights for the tree - it's kind of an issue for our family, my Dad thinks the white lights on trees are snobby. I don't agree...but I do like colored lights better!
We actually have both white and colored. The white are only inside near the trunk. Dan was a little apprehensive about it, but he liked it once we got them up. The white ones are running lights, too so it gives it some more dimension (and makes cool patterns on the wall reflecting through the branches). In general, I just really like Christmas lights :)
